We had an excellent start of the week, and last night we made an
appearance at the Breast
Cancer Research Foundation (“BCRF”) event hosted by Elizabeth Hurley
and a special performance by Elton John. We’re very excited to share our
experience with our readers about last night’s spectacular gala.
BCRF is
a non-profit committed to achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer.
They provide critical funding for cancer research worldwide to fuel advances in
tumor biology, genetics, prevention, treatment, metastasis and survivorship. 1
in 8 women have invasive breast cancer all of whom depend on BCRF, and we feel
blessed to have taken part in this project. It’s very important to increase
awareness and contribute, so future generations will not have to battle breast
cancer. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the
steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage
others to do the same.
Breast cancer kills more than 40,000 women and men in the U.S.
every year. Prevention is very important, some risk factors such as family
history, can’t be changed. However, there are lifestyle changes you can make to
lower your risk, like being physically active, quit smoking, limiting alcohol,
controlling your weight and eating healthy. Being aware and involved to
#BeTheEnd of breast cancer can make a huge difference.
Yesterday was an extremely busy day, as we were preparing for the
gala, we played dress-up (with the gorgeous Nicole Miller gowns)
and then we went to have our hair done by RPZL (one of my favorites!) and make up done by Pucker(lovely salon!).
I decided to wear a hot pink dress by Alice & Trixie and
Amra wore Alice
& Trixie all for the “Hot Pink Party Goes Wild” theme. We chose
our accessories very carefully to complete the looks. Braids are very trendy
this spring, so I decided to have my hair done in a messy braid; it took quite
a bit of time to complete the look (over 6 hours!), but it was well worth it.
We both wanted the glowy make up look, with natural shades. Everything turned
out so well.
As the evening gala was approaching, we were getting more excited.
The gala started with the pink carpet, followed by some cocktails and then we
had an amazing dinner. After the dinner, we enjoyed a special performance by
Sir Elton John, who has been supporting the foundation for 15+ years. The event
was hosted by the stunning Elizabeth Hurley, and we got the chance to chat with
her on the Pink Carpet. Not only is she an amazingly talented actress and
absolutely gorgeous, she is incredibly polite and sweet!
Yesterday we were reporting live from the gala, from our Snapchats
@elmabeganovich and @clubfashionista, and we also took over BCRF’s Instagram. You
can check out some of the action there! The whole evening was amazing,
everything well organized, lovely people in attendance, and the setting was
gorgeous! During the dinner, listening to the stories of those who survived
cancer was very inspirational, and it makes one appreciate all that life has to
offer.
Our goal is to spread the word about BCRF and its
incredible mission to eradicate breast cancer by funding the world’s most promising
research. Giving-up is not an option, take all of your courage and strength to
help in the fight to end cancer.
To our readers, we hope that you can help us to spread the word by sharing this post with your friends. Until next reading, have a lovely week. /xx-EB
